Terence (Terry) Stern

Melanie Stern


Melanie joined Stern Law in 2019 after years of working in top family law firms and before that, as a legal associate to Judges of the Family Court of Australia. Melanie is an Accredited Specialist in Family Law and Collaborative Lawyer.

In 2018, Melanie was recognised in the Doyle’s Guide as a “Rising Star” in family law in New South Wales.

Melanie provides expert advice and representation in a broad range of legal matters, including family and relationship law (divorce, parenting matters, property, complex financial issues, child support, spouse maintenance and de facto relationships) and estate matters (including family provision claims, wills and probate). Melanie feels passionate about assisting people to resolve disputes and move forward with their lives.

Melanie’s extensive knowledge and experience, combined with her strong negotiation skills, allow her to resolve the majority of clients’ disputes outside the court system, which avoids costly and time-consuming litigation. Karishini Kaushik


Karishini is well on her way to being a leading medical negligence lawyer. A former medical secretary and daughter of a leading specialist obstetrician and gynaecologist, Karishini has a particular passion for diagnostic negligence, patient advocacy and justice. Graduated from the University of Wollongong in 2020 and admitted to practice in March 2022, Karishini is passionate, dedicated and takes genuine care and interest in her clients and their cases. Not limited to medical negligence, Karishini acts for vulnerable employees in unfair dismissals, students in academic misconduct allegations and vulnerable litigants in Estate matters.
